TAMPA, FL. JUNE 21, 2019— Tampa Tank–Florida Structural Steel (TTI-FSS) was among six Florida manufacturers awarded the 2019 Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award by Governor Ron DeSantis at the Governor’s Sterling Awards Banquet in Orlando on May 31, 2019. Recognizing high performing manufacturers in six categories, companies were judged on leadership, strategy, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, and operations.
TTI-FSS has been in the steel industry for more than 60 years with corporate offices and plants located at Port Tampa Bay. The company specializes in the fabrication of structural steel products for bridges, heavy highway and other large, modular heavy plate steel industrial and commercial applications, as well as the design and custom assembly of industrial storage tanks manufactured to all applicable ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
Operating across North America, Central and South America, and in the Caribbean, TTI- FSS is a primary contractor for companies in the petroleum, chemical, pulp and paper, mining, electric power, water and wastewater industries, and is capable of shipping every possible option, including massive and complex steel structures, from its deep-water port.
TTI-FSS President and CEO, David Hale, attributes the achievement of this honor to the three-legged stool adage he discusses frequently with his teams, and the company’s trilateral philosophy of core values, teamwork, and continual self-improvement.
