Field Erected Tanks & Piping
The scope of work for this project includes the complete engineering, detailing, fabrication, supply, demolition, and erection services required for the construction of one (1) API 650 aboveground carbon steel storage tank for Martin Asphalt in Tampa, Florida. Work shall include preparation of shop drawings; furnishing of all materials; fabrication; freight and delivery of materials and tools; and provision of all labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to execute the project.
The project also includes demolition of one (1) existing API 650 tank; setting four (4) 500 HP pumps (furnished by others) and connecting them to terminal piping; providing steam jacketing and insulation for the pumps; and supplying and installing a steam snuffing system for three (3) existing tanks, with piping terminating approximately three (3) feet above grade. The new tank will be 120’-0” in diameter and 48’-0” tall, featuring a column and rafter supported cone roof, galvanized carbon steel double stringer spiral stairs, roof perimeter handrail, steam snuffing system piping, air sparger, and standard API appurtenances.
The scope further includes the supply and installation of approximately 8,250 linear feet of 2” Schedule 80 carbon steel heating coils with supports, as well as a complete roof and shell insulation system consisting of mineral wool, polyisocyanurate, and Foamglas materials with aluminum jacketing and stainless steel attachment systems. Additional work includes providing manpower for hydrostatic testing, performing non-destructive testing (NDT) as required by code, and field coating of the new tank in accordance with project specifications. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Request for Proposal and applicable standards, except as modified by any stated clarifications or exclusions.
